Home Air Conditioning London

You may think that it is obvious that your air conditioning unit isn’t working properly, however, you may be surprised that many people do not notice that there is a problem. That, or they think there is an issue and there isn’t one.

The last thing you will want is to get into the warmer months, only to find that your air conditioning is on the blink. Which is why we have put together some of the signs that you should look out for in order to know that your air conditioning may need to be replaced.

There is no cold air

Now, this is a pretty obvious sign that something could be wrong with the air conditioning unit in your home or office. Have you found that the air coming through the vents isn’t quite as cold as it used to be? Even worse, is it slightly warm? If so, this could mean that your compressor isn’t working, or that the Freon levels within the unit are too low. Both things that will need fixing, or signs that your system may need replacing.

Not enough air

Another sign that your compressor may have an issue is a weak flow of air through the vents. Not only this, but a lack of air flow can also be a sign that the airflow is being obstructed by something. This could mean that you need to book in a clean, or perhaps gear yourself up to having a replacement system put in place if the problem is a little more serious.

There is an uneven distribution of temperature

Are some parts of the property nice and cold, whilst others are warm? If so, then this points towards to a problem with your thermostat, and this could need looking at by a professional.

You notice some moisture coming from the system

Moisture or leakage from your system is never a good sign, and it could be a sign of a number of problems. The most serious reason is that there is a leak in the refrigerant, this can be a serious health risk for you and your family, and is something that needs immediate attention.

If you see a pool of water underneath your air conditioning unit, the drainage tube could be blocked or broken. This is a less serious problem, but you should still have it checked.

The system is making some strange sounds

This is one of the most obvious signs that something is wrong. Grunting, grinding or squealing can be the sign that there is something wrong with your AC system, particularly inside it.

Squeaking could be a sign that a belt has slipped out of place, or that a metal part within the system needs more lubrication, whilst a grinding sound could mean that the bearings within the motor are broken!

A broken AC unit is never a good thing, so if you notice that it isn’t performing how it used to, or that you are hearing some really odd sounds, then you will really want to book in to have it checked over by a professional company – Don’t hesitate and contact us today 02083331191.
